Cosmetic teeth whitening used a gel like liquid to lighten or bleach the surface of your teeth. Each treatment takes 20 minutes before it is reapplied and the treatment is started again. We use a hydrogen peroxide gel and LED light to speed up the whitening process to ensure great results without needing a trip to the dentist.
The main difference is in the gel. Ingredients that the take home insta famous kits are often less intense whiteners like Sodium bicarbonate (bicarb soda) where our treatments use a higher intensity product like hydrogen peroxide which lifts the surface stains much faster and results last longer.
The teeth whitening procedure should never be painful. If you experience any discomfort please let us know immediately. Reasons for pain often highlight a need for a trip to the dentist. Issues like cavities can increase your sensitivity in which case the treatment should be paused until the dentist gives you the OK to go ahead. Some clients experience a light amount of sensitivity for 24-48 hours after your treatment. This is normal and completely healthy as some teeth and gums are more sensitive to things like heat and cold etc.
To get the most out of your brighter smile we recommend waiting 24-48 hours before eating highly coloured food and drink such as red wine, dark tea and coffee, curries, etc. At your appointment we go through this more in depth to ensure you feel confident to get the most out of your treatment and have it last as long as possible. And simple things like brushing youre teeth twice daily, flossing and using a whitening tooth paste are always going to help keep your teeth whiter for longer.
